Chris McKinney
Language Arts Author in Residence
Chris McKinney, Instructor, CC, Language Arts, is a composition and literature teacher, and a writer. His first novel, The Tattoo, was published in October 1999. He is the recipient of the Elliot Cades Award for Literature 2000. He has received two Ka Palapala Po'okela Awards for Excellence in Literature and Excellence in Writing Literature. He has done readings at Castle High School, Kamehameha Schools, Waialua Public Library, and Halawa Prison. He has also led writing workshops for H.C.T.E. and the Honolulu Writers Conference. Chris is currently working on his second novel. He has taught at Leeward Community College, Hawaii Pacific University, Chaminade University, and Honolulu Community College.
