Making History
Richard Ziegler, Professor, CC, History and American Studies, has been teaching at HCC since 1975. He seeks to provide a broad, solid knowledge base for his students in World Civilizations - History 151 and 152, and an interdisciplinary introduction to American culture in his American Studies classes. He has endeavored to take learning out of the classroom by several major college-community projects. He was the project coordinator for the HCC Dinosaur Exhibit - the only permanent exhibit of its kind in Hawaii, the Berlin Wall Freedom Monument - selected by Honolulu Weekly as one of the four best public art works in Honolulu, the Natural History Center, and HCC Timeline - the longest in Hawaii. He was selected for the 1999-2000 Excellence in Teaching Award for Honolulu Community College.
