LSK 30 - College Study Skills
Course Description
Students will develop ability to organize materials, utilize the library, take notes in class, manage their time, prepare and take exams, take responsibility for their own learning and get individual attention as needed.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of LSK 30, the student will be able to:
- Identify their own learning style, brain dominance, and multiple intelligences.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage their time.
- Prepare for objective and essay tests.
- Apply the SQ3R study system to reading assignments.
- Take effective lecture notes.
- Access information in the library and on the computer.
- Strengthen their memory by practicing various strategies.
- Locate main ideas in reading material.
- Write summaries and reactions to lectures and presentations.
