ENG 210 - Writing Term Papers
Course Description
- Prerequisite: "C" or higher in ENG 100 OR placement in ENG 209-260
Practice in the skills needed in writing research papers and "term" papers: methods of gathering and evaluating primary and secondary evidence and of presenting arguments in convincing and logical expository prose.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of ENG 210, the student will be able to:
- Choose and limit a topic carefully.
- Write a clear thesis statement.
- Gather material, using interviews, library print and non print resources, primary and secondary sources.
- Evaluate material and draw conclusions from evidence.
- Organize and present ideas convincingly and logically in expository prose.
- Document in APA, Illinois, or MLA formats.
- Prepare bibliography/works cited in standard format.
