English

English like any other language is a complex system of words used to communicate ideas. From simple greetings to lengthy creative expression, language not only enables us to learn about each other but also helps us learn about ourselves as well.

In English composition, there are specific rules that were created to make this language as uniform as possible. These rules serve the purpose of keeping confusion or misinterpretation of written communication to a minimum. Without conventions like spelling or punctuation, composition would lack efficiency.

In poetry, drama, fiction, and creative non-fiction, language is used to create art. Analyzing such texts affords us the opportunity to learn universal truths about our world and to witness the true nature of genius-original thought.
