ENG 201 - Creative Writing
- Prerequisite: "C" or higher in ENG 100
Practice in writing poems and short stories which includes creative writing assignments, discussion of professional works, and discussion of each student’s writing.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of ENG 201, the student will be able to:
- Recognize the basic elements of imaginative writing.
- Use imaginative writing to discover or communicate new ideas, feelings, and attitudes.
- Appreciate the artistry of well-written poems and short stories.
- Write poems and short stories of recognizable form and quality.
- Critically analyze the imaginative writing of oneself and of others.
- Evaluate and edit the poems and short stories of oneself and classmates.
