English as a Second Language
The key to being successful in college is a student's language proficiency. The better students read, write, speak, and listen, the more successful they will be. ESL students already know at least one language and sometimes more. Their task is to improve their abilities in English, and ESL courses allow students to develop their English skills to compete successfully with native English-speaking counterparts.
