Microbiology
Microbiology is the study of micro-organisms, both eucaryotic (algae, fungi, and protoza) and procaryotic (bacteria and cyanobacteria) and non-cellular infectious agents (viruses and prion-proteins). The topics covered include their structure and function, their energy metabolism, their modes of reproduction and genetics, and how they interact with the animal (human) body and the Earth's biosphere. Other selected topics include basic immunology, fermentations, microbial physiology and micro-bial nutrition.
