FSHN 75 - Human Nutrition and Food Science
Course Description
This course is designed to integrate the basic concepts of the natural sciences with the study of human nutrition, food production, and food safety. It will provide a scientific foundation for understanding the nutrient requirements of healthy individuals; the characteristics, physiological functions and food sources of the nutrients; the production of a safe food supply with emphasis on safe food handling; and government regulations that protect the food supply. May be taken on a CR/N basis.
