GEOG 151 - Geography and Contemporary Society
Course Description
- Prerequisite: Placement in ENG 22/60
Elements of economic geography and resource management; study of populations and food problems; energy; ecosystems; and pollution; application to current problems of developed and underdeveloped nations.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of GEOG 151, the student will be able to:
- Understand how the natural environment both nurtures and limits human organization of it as well as understand how humans modify the environment based on their culture.
- Recognize patterns of similarities and differences of places by examining different environments, cultures, economic activities, and political realms.
- Utilize geographic (spatial) methodologies in the solution of social problems.
