Introduction to the Visual Arts
Course Description: The nature of visual art and its expression in various forms. Includes lectures and demonstrations. (3 credits)
Prerequisite: ENG 22/60 or placement in ENG 100
Course Objectives and Outcomes: At the end of the course the student should be able to:
Assessment: Student work will be assessed by means
of participation in class discussions, quizzes, hands-on studio projects,
and mid-term and final exams.
Methods of instruction: Teaching and learning will take place through the use of lecture/slide presentations, video, small group learning, studio art projects, writing, and field trips to art galleries and museums.
